OFFICIAL STATEMENT BY ALFA-TSENTR CEO, ROMAN AZEF

To Public & Members of the Press:
Thanks to the participation of an international team of volunteers, Alfa-Tsentr has eliminated a group of terrorists who waged a campaign of armed violence, cyber attacks, and malicious disinformation. Their leader has been eliminated and all those unwilling to surrender have either been killed or captured. For a brief time, the terrorists were able to use the internet to recruit new members and to disseminate their nihilistic ideology. In rare circumstances, they were even able to entice weak-minded Alfa-Tsentr operatives and contracted workers into betraying basic values of security and human decency. A dissolute former PR speechwriter and an opportunistic advertising lackey were among those who offered material support to the terrorists. The speechwriter, one Alexander Dubrovin, went as far as supplying terrorist elements in Chile with sensitive operational codes for Alfa-Tsentr computers. Fortunately our loyal agents were able to intercept these plans and substitute decoy versions of the codes. Thinking they had crippled our security systems, the terrorists were drawn into a trap and thus destroyed. While the terrorists no longer pose any immediate danger, their sympathizers have shown signs of improved organization, discipline, and communications. We ask that all those who share our concerns about this organization and its nihilistic ideology monitor these groups in the weeks and months ahead. Since all immediate objectives have been successfully completed, Alfa-Tsentr will at this time cease formal communication with the public. Our PR affiliate, Men of Taste, will once more be delegated all such responsibilities. Under the prudent leadership of their new Coordinator, Ivan Grossman, Men of Taste will post updates on new developments to its websites, including announcements regarding terrorist threat levels. To those who worked to foil the terrorist plot, we offer our profound gratitude. It is because of your dedication that our esteemed institutions and commerce will be preserved. The events of the past few weeks have shown that there are still people principled enough not to be seduced by false blandishments and propaganda. Those who stood tall in the face of evil have shown that there are still a few brave individuals willing to risk their lives to protect the many. Our agents in the field live with that urgent knowledge—that all which is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing. Today, good men have acted, and evil has been vanquished. The mission has been accomplished.
